Richard, from the USA, has been a regular visitor to Australia, and we formed a friendship after meeting in Brisbane in 2013. I was intrigued by his quirky guitar style, plus, his dry, witty stage patter had me laughing out loud. Whenever Richard was passing through Brisbane, we'd record some tracks. Echoes From The Past is the result. Richard's style is reminiscent of Leo Kottke. Mine is not. If you enjoy acoustic guitar music, I think you'll be surprised by our blend of styles.

Allan Caswell and Michael Fix are legends in Australian Country music…Between them they have won a staggering 11 Golden Guitars. Christmas Takes Me Home was aimed at being an old school, classic Christmas song. “We didn’t want sleigh bells and snow or blinding heat and dust … the song is driven by emotion, families and love… champagne, beer or punch”
Released in time for Valentine's Day 2023, this quirky romantic song - written by Stephin Merritt - distills the glory of love, and the reality of long-term relationships, into a few simple phrases. I discovered the song quite recently when asked to perform this at a wedding ceremony. I was really touched by the simplicity and imagery of the lyric. It’s hard to find love songs that express the concept in fresh ways, but this song does.
Released September 2023, this fast-paced instrumental track takes you on a train journey through remote parts of Australia.
