So much has been happening in the past few weeks since my last e-news, it’s really been an amazing time. The Acoustic Guitar Spectacular did a lap of Queensland, with fantastic audience responses.
Here we are - Adam Rafferty, Andrew Veivers and myself - landing in Longreach - like The Beatles in ‘64 ...except that instead of thousands of fans, we were met by thousands of flies…
For eagle-eyed plane spotters...no we didn’t really land in that vintage Boeing 707, we were in fact, at the Qantas Founders Museum, one of the venues on the tour...
I went straight from that tour into rehearsals for the annual Brisbane Lord Mayors Seniors Christmas Party concerts which involved two shows a day in Brisbane City Hall. What a glorious venue, and the hall was full for every performance.
I recently received the exciting news that I’m a finalist in ‘Instrumental of the Year’ (Cosmopolitan Blues) in the annual CMAA Golden Guitar Awards. Congratulations to all the finalists...winners announced January 28.
Just today I received a lovely CD review for Bending Air…”Finally! A return to melody. ...I feel a bond with this composer who travels the world and then expresses in compositions his feelings about places, events, friends, influences, everything! What you will hear is variety... That Maton guitar is wonderful…. © Mark Bayer You can read the full review here

To round off the year, I’m pleased to announce that there will be another CD release from me; a duet album Shadows & Light with Christine Collister (amazing singer from the Isle of Man)
Christine & I played some concerts together last year, and there was demand for us to return, and record together. She is an amazing vocalist and dynamic performer, and I love playing with great singers.
Official release date is January 12, to coincide with our tour early next year. (Tour dates below…) Download version will available before Christmas...I’ll post here on my website as soon as its availaible.
